Why is it that no one talks about responsibility when we talk about healthcare?

These two videos were posted online and I just could not let them pass by without posting them to show the depths to which those who are trying to fundamentally transform America will sink to try to enlist support for a health care overhaul that has nothing to do with actually making health care better or more affordable for the working people of this country. I am also amazed that we hear about these 47 million, no 30 million, no 16 million people who do not have health care, but yet no one mentions that any of these destitute people can go to an emergency room and be treated. For????? Nothing! Because of federal laws that require a hospital emergency room to treat a person who presents themselves at that emergency room.

So when politicians say X number of people don't have health insurance. But why is it they don't have health insurance? Some do not have health insurance because they choose not to have it, but you don't ever hear politicians talk about these people. All we hear about is how insurance is too expensive and the poor can't afford health insurance. But, look around, do they smoke? Drink? What kind of car do they drive? What kind of TV do they have and do they have cable tv or satellite? What kind of cellphone do they carry? No one wants to ask these questions because they are afraid the culture police will come after them.

But you know what, the sad fact is, nearly every person that falls onto this list the government has for the uninsured has a flat screen, drives a late model car, has a cellphone, and has either cable tv or satellite tv. There are those that will say you can't tell them they can't have those things! And those people would be correct, I cannot tell them they cannot have those things. However, what I can tell them is that I am not going to pay for their health care insurance, while they continue to enjoy the vices of the culture. I pay for my health insurance through my employer and I pay my bills for my car, tv, and cellphone. So if I pay for mine, why should I have to help pay for someone else's? I mean if they can afford to drive a nice car, have a cellphone, flat screen tv, and cable or satellite tv, why can't they pay for their health care?

The answer is simply this, because for nearly 60 years the federal government has convinced a large segment of the American population that they will take care of their every need. Well after so long of making promises the government hasn't been able to pay for. It is now time for the piper to be paid. We cannot afford to pay for everyone's health care. We can't, nor should we. It is time that personal responsibility return to our shores and maybe just maybe, there is still time for us to save ourselves from the leviathan that is our federal government.

How can Everything Be Broken?

Is it just me or for the last 12-18 months has everything in the United States been described as "broken"? A year ago under then President George Bush, the TARP plan was passed to save the financial sector that was the victim of it's own misconduct and the American People rejected the TARP bailouts, but our House of Representatives and Senators passed it anyway, because all of those businesses were too "big" to fail. No one and no business is too big to fail! Failure is a part of the learning and growing process and must be realized if we are to continue to be a leader in innovation for the world.
And since then everything has been described as broken or in need of transformation. President Barack Obama stated five days before the election that "We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America." Personally I don't think America needs to be transformed. Do we have problems yes! Are we perfect? No we are not, however, we are still the greatest, brightest beacon of freedom and hope in the world today.
Our Federal Government does not have the Constitutional power to "fix" everything that the Obama Administration and the Statists in Washington say is "broken".
The American People have spoken out peacefully with and estimated 1.7 million people that showed up in Washington, D. C. last Saturday, September 12th, to protest not President Obama's race, but the socialistic policies that have been simmering under the surface in our government for many decades, of both Republican and Democrat Administrations.

A House Divided….

With Henry Ross’s announcement Thursday that he will seek the Republican nomination and attempt to oust Congressman Travis Childers in November of 2010, the First District GOP is once again setting itself up for a possible let down. Senator Alan Nunnelee and Senator Merle Flowers are rumored to be running as well. Nunnelee has been making his rounds on a listening tour across the district but has yet to formally announce. Three people all attempting to convince the citizens of the First District that they are the right man to take on Travis Childers. A three way split among the GOP faithful. Didn’t we go through this last year? And it was a complete and total disaster! As the Republican Party is looking for its identity so too are the Republican’s of the First District searching for someone who will represent them and be a viable candidate against Travis Childers.
What is needed from the GOP is a united front, solidarity and loyalty to one candidate, period end of story. We all saw what happened in 2008 when a three way race happened in the primary. So what happens now, three more men trying to out conservative the others. Three men asking for money to take on each other with and no doubt someone will get his feelings hurt and that person’s supporters will not support the person who ultimately wins the nomination. So after these three bloody one another up in the primary, the national Democrat Party will dive in and steamroll the Republican candidate. Because let’s face it Travis Childers wouldn’t stand much of a chance without the backing of his progressive buddies in Washington.
It is so very true that a house divided cannot stand and that is exactly what is happening to the Republicans in the First District. And until someone musters the courage to speak to the GOP in the First District and say “follow me, I will show you the way,” divided we will be.

The 9.12 Project.....

For far too long we have been asleep at the wheel, and as we voted, we were all hopeful for a better America and all we have really gotten is more empty promises. Our fate is up to us. Our destiny is yet unwritten. WE THE PEOPLE control our destiny! We and we alone determine the direction that our country will go and it is time that we all decide if we are all in or if we will continue to live with our heads in the sand. Freedom you see is not free at all, and if we do not stand up and fight for Freedom, well, as we have known her, she may be lost for good.

Tonight Glenn Beck of the Fox News Channel unveiled The 9.12 Project. A very simple and straightforward idea actually, most of the brilliant ideas usually are simple. 9 Principles and 12 Values. And we remember the people we were on 9-12-2001, the day after the world changed for the USA. We stood in line to give blood, we held hands with people we didn't even know, we prayed for souls we would never meet. We became the best we could be, because politics on that day and in the weeks that followed, didn't matter, because we weren't Republicans or Democrats, we were Americans.

So let us return to that time and be those people of 9.12 again....

WE SURROUND THEM!!!!!!

Some of you know me well; others of you who will receive this may not even know me at all. I want to let you know I am first and foremost an American. I believe in the greatness of the American People and this Country. I believe that our politicians continue to divide us intentionally along party lines, because they know that if they can only keep us divided, then we will never unite on the principles that connect us. I want to begin to help change that. We are Americans! White, Black, Red, Yellow, it doesn’t matter what the color of our skin is, as Dr. Martin Luther King said it should be the content of one’s character. I believe in our character. I refuse to accept that the greatest, most innovative, most prosperous country on the face of the Earth is on the edge of meltdown.

I know you feel it. I know you feel that our politicians (Republican, Democrat, and Independents) no longer listen to WE THE PEOPLE. And you know what? To a large degree you are correct. And that is exactly what they want from us. They don’t want us to pay attention to what they are doing, what kinds of laws they pass, how much, and what kind of things OUR money purchases and supports. We are simply to fall in line because they know better than we do how to spend OUR money.

They need us, oh yes they need us, every two or four years when they need campaign contributions and volunteers to get the vote out so they can go back to city hall, the state capital, the nation’s capital, and “do the work of the people”.

Well I have news for you, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!! There are more and more people everyday who are waking up to the reality that our government no longer answers to us! The government actually does work for us. That is the way the constitution set it up. WE THE PEOPLE may have been ignored or forgotten in Washington, but We have not forgotten to whom they answer.

Below are 9 principles. Read them and if you agree with 7 of them, follow the link at the bottom of the list. Read the website and then, if you read it and feel that you can do what it talks about.
But above all if you agree email this to all your family members and friends. We are not alone and as the website says soon we will find out just how un-alone we really are.

The Nine Principles

1. America is good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
